A Last-Minute Proposal at Faro Los Morrillos | Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico Engagement Photographer
When Craig's photographer bailed the night before the proposal, he did what any determined partner in crime would do — he found a new one. Less than 24 hours later, we were at Faro Los Morrillos in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, with the Caribbean at our backs and the best kind of secret between us. Jenn had no idea. Until she did.
When the Plan Falls Apart — and Everything Still Goes Right
It started with a text message the night before.
Craig reached out in a bit of a panic — the photographer he had booked for the proposal had just bailed on him. Less than 24 hours before the moment he had planned for Jenn. He needed someone he could trust, someone who could move fast, and someone who could pull it off without Jenn ever suspecting a thing.
That's exactly the kind of call I live for.
We talked quickly, mapped out a loose plan, and I packed my gear. The destination: Faro Los Morrillos, the iconic lighthouse at the southwestern tip of Puerto Rico, perched above dramatic cliffs and facing the open Caribbean. If you're going to ask someone to spend the rest of your life with you, you could do a lot worse than that.
The Setup
The thing about surprise proposals is that the best ones feel completely natural — like you just happened to end up somewhere beautiful together. Craig had that part figured out. He knew Jenn. He knew the place he wanted. What he needed was someone behind the camera who could blend into the background, stay out of the way, and still capture every single second when it mattered.
That's where I come in. Not just as a photographer — as a partner in crime.
We scouted the area quietly. The late afternoon light was already doing something magical over the water, and the clouds rolling in gave the sky that dramatic, moody quality that makes Puerto Rico's west coast so photogenic. Everything was in place.
The Moment
Craig had a custom engraved ring box — Jenn. Craig. 4-23-26 — and when he got down on one knee with the Caribbean stretching out behind them, it was everything.
She said yes.
The hug that followed was the kind that tells you everything you need to know about two people. Pure joy, completely unguarded. That's the shot that I'll always remember from that evening.
After the Yes
Once the tears and the laughter settled, we had the most beautiful golden hour light I could have asked for. Jenn and Craig were completely in the moment — relaxed, happy, fully themselves. That's when the real magic happens in front of a camera. No posing needed. Just two people who just decided to choose each other, standing at the edge of the world.
We moved through the lighthouse grounds, the cliffside overlook, and finished as the sun dropped into the water behind them — silhouettes, stolen kisses, and a ring that caught the last light perfectly.
A Note on Last-Minute Magic
I want to say something to anyone reading this who might be in Craig's position someday — scrambling to find a photographer at the last minute because something fell through.
Don't panic. Call someone who actually cares about your story.
The best sessions I've ever shot weren't the ones that were planned to the minute. They were the ones where the couple trusted me, we leaned into the moment together, and something real happened. Craig and Jenn's evening at Los Morrillos is now one of my favorites — and it almost didn't happen at all.
That's the job I love. Showing up, being your creative accomplice, and making sure nothing is missed.
Craig & Jenn — congratulations. Cabo Rojo witnessed your yes, and I got to be there for it. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Old San Juan Elopement Session in Puerto Rico | Jess & Blue
Jess and Blue were already married when they arrived in Puerto Rico. Their ceremony had taken place at home, intimate and personal. Traveling immediately afterward, they chose Old San Juan to celebrate their marriage with a professional elopement-style photo session
Jess and Blue were already married when they arrived in Puerto Rico. Their ceremony had taken place at home, intimate and personal. Traveling immediately afterward, they chose Old San Juan to celebrate their marriage with a professional elopement-style photo session—one that felt intentional, elegant, and true to who they are.
Old San Juan offered the perfect setting. Cobblestone streets, historic walls, and open views of the Atlantic created a timeless backdrop that required no embellishment. Dressed with purpose, Jess and Blue moved through the city as if it were an extension of their story—confident, grounded, and deeply connected.
Old San Juan ofrecía el escenario perfecto.
We planned the session around sunset, letting the light guide the rhythm. As the day softened, the session unfolded naturally. The chemistry between us made everything feel effortless. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was forced. Every image grew out of real moments—shared glances, quiet laughter, and stillness.
This is what elopement photography in Old San Juan does best. It creates space. Space to breathe, to reflect, and to honor the beginning of a marriage without distractions.
Jess and Blue didn’t just take photos in Puerto Rico. They marked a moment in their lives with intention—and left with images that feel as meaningful as the commitment they made.
